Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma
This is a class of lymphomas which is really a whole family (about 35 in total) of different cancers of lymphocytes - non-Hodgkins lymphoma is divided into 2 major groups : ones affecting the B-lymphocytes and the ones affecting T-lymphocytes. Non-hodgkins lymphoma is the most common kind of cancer of the lymphatic system.
There are several factors that can predispose people to getting non-Hodkins lymphoma, they are :
- people who have been exposed to pesticides or solvents
- some people who have been infected by the Epstein Barr virus (causes mononucleosis - glandular fever)
- people with a family history of it
- people with the AIDs virus
