Southbeach Diet
What is the Southbeach Diet?
The Southbeach diet is advocated by Dr Arthur Agatston
and he teaches you to rely on the right types of
carbohydrates and fats and lose the cravings you have for
the 'bad' carbohydrates and fats. The end result is a weight
loss diet plan that claims to help you lose 8-13 pounds in
the first 2 weeks.
There are 3 phases in the southbeach diet:
- Phase I
(Banishing the cravings) You get to eat normal
size portions of meat, chicken and other foods together with
vegetables, eggs, cheese etc. Wash it down with water
and the occasional coffee or tea if you wish. What's off
limits - bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and baked goods.
- Phase II
(Reintroducing carbohydrates) slow reintroduction
of the banished foods back into the diet. You can pick and
choose from a list of these 'indulgences' that you can enjoy
from time to time but not all the time. You have to stick to
phase II until you reach your target weight.
- Phase III
(A Diet for life) this is the diet plan that you will
adhere to for life because you have reached a stage where
the foods you choose to eat are a part of your way of life.
You still have to live by the rules set out in the Southbeach
diet.
The results from the Southbeach diet
There are countless success stories of people who have lost
significant amounts of weight from following the Southbeach
diet plan. Bill and Hillary Clinton are said to be on the
Southbeach diet according to sources from New York
